Our sincere gratitude towards Mr. Brijesh Rawat for bringing up an idea of Makhloga website. Without his   encouragement and guidance, this website would not be possible.

It is said that his elder son Bhir Singh was as brave as his father and because of this, he got charge of commander-in-chief with a view to keeping company with Prithvi Raj in all his encounters with the foreign invaders. One of the son’s of Chand Singh Pundir had decided to stay behind in Aligarh having his control over 30 odd villages.

Haridwar (Mayapur) had been a religious place right from the prehistoric period. The Mughals always saw in destroying famous idols of gods and goddess and deseperating the religious places of the hindus as serving purposes of their own religion i.e. Islam. They always took pride in doing so. For this reason intensity of those attacks/ plundering were many more during that period by those invaders.

Pursuant to this tactics of theirs, in the same century, Maya pur had had to face the turbulent invasion/attack of Nasirruddin.

The king of Mayapur had faced it all by himself. Subsequent to this, in that very century (1398) Timurlang(Timur) had waged a fierce attack that completely ruined the huge buildings, fort of maya pur including all the religious places of worship. Everything had converted into rubble of these places and there remains no trace of any statue there due to this attack.

In other words, the entire city of Mayapur had taken the shape of total dilapidation.  In this battle the whole flock of people, Pundir Rajputs, Chauhans, Rangad Rajputs had been killed. The entire citizenry of Mayapur had been compelled to convert into Islam due to this devastating destruction ruin in a wanton manner. Timur’s first invasion took place at Dhaunspur and one commander Shehkar had fought the Timur's Army valiantly till the last, before laying own life in this time, Raja Vatsarajdev was the king of Mayapur at that time. The Muslim writers of the time used to write or refer to him as ‘Behmeg’, but his descendants identify or refer to themselves as ‘MAKHLOGA’ and in the slang refer to him as ‘Vatsaru’ also. This Vatsaru somehow or the other had escaped death in the battle. He was quite sore and dejected over mass killings of his own men and on their forced conversion to Islam.
